Our Impact

Each year Backyard Growers ensures that thousands of school children have garden programming at their schools and local produce in their cafeteria, that hundreds of community and backyard growers have access to thriving vegetable gardens and that food-growing knowledge and resources continue to exist in our community and beyond.

For this annual impact report, we’re reflecting on how 2020 has shaped Backyard Growers in both small and profound ways as we worked together to meet the needs of our community.

Looking back on 2019, we reflect on a year of change in staff, space, leadership, and plans. We also started to see our strategic plan, “Roots and Wings,” shape our work.

This spring marks Backyard Growers’ 10th growing season. Backyard Growers has matured into a vital community resource, serving folks here in Gloucester and beyond.
