In this video, learn more about the awesome community of local supporters who help us uplift our neighbors to grow their own fresh food every growing season.

“I don’t have a yard to grow anything at my apartment so it’s been wonderful having fresh vegetables that I’ve grown myself [at the community garden]. It’s increased my self esteem since I’ve been able to grow food on my own to help feed myself and I’ve been able to share my bounty with friends and family. I’ve also made new friends at the garden so it’s fostered a greater sense of community for me.”

Community Garden Program Participant

Imagine a world where everyone knows where their food comes from.

We’re cultivating generations of students who are active participants in their local food system.

Each year, Backyard Growers engages over 2,000 public school students in the garden and in the cafeteria through our Salad Days, Fall Harvest Days, and Taste Test programs.
