Beth Harrington was a passionate supporter of Backyard Growers and the organization's mission to cultivate healthy, connected, resilient communities by empowering people to grow their own food.

Every year, Backyard Growers connects hundreds of Gloucester residents with the resources, knowledge, and space to grow their own fresh food. Through the organization's school garden programs, 100% of Gloucester Public School students preK through grade 8 have the experience of growing vegetables and enjoying their harvest in their school cafeterias.

Beth’s heart of gold led her to Backyard Growers. She sincerely loved helping others. She was a friend to all, even strangers who looked like they could use a hand. She loved all kinds of animals, especially dogs, as she fostered and cared for most of her adult life.

She loved her home in beautiful Rockport and never forgot it was a blessing to wake up and see the ocean, the wild birds, and the beauty of all that makes this astonishing New England coast. The only thing that topped all of this was her love for her family.

In remembrance of Beth, we would like to encourage you to make a gift to Backyard Growers to power their work into the future in her memory.
